New Balance and Montreal-based design studio JJJJound continue their partnership this season, creating two versions of the recently revived and much lauded American-made 992. This version, in a typical-of-New Balance grey, explores the concept of ‘everyday’ that was first seen on the partners’ previous 990v3. The grey, however, is different to the lighter tones often associated with the New England label. Instead, it’s slightly darker. Aged. Reminiscent of the tones usually seen once the sneakers have been well worn. The uppers are built from a tried-and-tested combination of premium pigskin suede and mesh, while underfoot ENCAP® and ABZORB® technology combine to provide the comfort so often associated with the 99x line. JJJJound branding on the heel, usually taken up by USA, completes the collaborative aesthetic.
