Head Back To The Future With This Mag-Inspired Nike Air Force 1 Low

Marty McFly’s Mags from 1989’s Back To The Future II are one of the most iconic silhouettes in history in part thanks to the ahead-of-its-time self-lacing technology. 12 years after the Beaverton brand would make the futuristic idea a reality, the light-up high top now inspires a color-matched Nike Air Force 1 Low.

Aside from the manual rope laces, the Bruce Kilgore design draws an ostensible connection to the coveted hands-free model. In striking similarity to the Michael J. Fox-endorsed model, a solid grey hue consumes the entirety of the smooth leather and ripstop upper. Elsewhere, crisp white profile swooshes and heel tabs mimic the straps and heel structure from the late 80s solution. While a speckled midsole isn’t employed – in favor of a colorless backdrop – the Doc Brown gadget’s vibrant blue Nike logo is adapted within the insoles and Nike Air branding affixed to the tongue tab and heel.
