During the Fall of last year, it was revealed that the Air Jordan 4 “Thunder” would be returning for 2023. And though excitement was initially high following the announcement, the subsequent appearance of in-hand images had many deflated, as the upcoming Retro was quite a bit different from the original in one main way: its stitching. Thankfully, the Jumpman saw the error in their ways, swiftly changing up the thread to bring the release closer to OG spec.

Appearing via retailer images, the 2023 Air Jordan 4 “Thunder” — following the changes — leans much closer to its 2006 counterpart. Black nubuck builds out much of the upper, matching the adjacent netting, laces, support wings, and the like. The titular “Thunder,” then, comes in along its usual spots, highlighting the mesh unders, midsole, and many of the adjacent accents.

Enjoy a closer look at the 2023 Air Jordan 4 “Thunder” for yourself ahead. A release is currently expected for May 13th, arriving in not only adult sizes but also GS, Little Kids, and Infants.
